class debate 27/09/2012

class debate we got split into two groups and then we being given two topics  games are art and 3d graphics have improved films are group got for games are art and against 3d graphic have improved films then in are group we talked about what we are going to do and we had to talk 2 minutes then we research for about 2 hours
and then we had a debate on games are art and the other group won the the debate   then the next we had a debate on 3d graphics improved films

Matte Painting

We had to make  Matte painting and i  pick shanghai skyline to make and painting. i gave it a look like old and destroyed by changing in sky by making the building destroyed. I used Adobe Photoshop.

I had to animation a ball going down the stairs. 

This was the first ever animation that i did and it was ok for the first animation.

A 3d modeling of the room that we are work in  college.

At first i did not now how to start the the room but by asking Neil he told me what to do an i thing that with a be more work i can do it better with my new learned by doing the penguin pool. i am going to work no this and make it better over the half term. By texturing and room .

Day two 02:43pm 12/09/2012 started a new module understanding the media 1 with Neil Brewis he handout the module handbook and then he want and  show as basic technical of  digital painting in

Tennis match  was just a quick thing that we did in class that we had to make 3d animation of tennis match.

i did what i wanted to like make the character, stadiums, animation. But i got carried way with the animation.

Car crash animation I was just experimenting with animation in maya. I think it went quite well it did what I wanted it to do when I started with the animation. 

3D Tennis Match powerpoint presentation

3D Tennis Match powerpoint presentation that i had to give  today it did not go that well. Then after the presentation Neil told what i did wrong he said the need more research, reference, animation was not to good.

what i did wrong at first i did the research after i did the Tennis animation, and try to link it in.

i did not do a lot of research for the presentation. i did not reference the presentation. animation was not good because it was one of first animation i ever did. But this is one of the thing that enjoyed doing because of the animation aspect of it and that why i did the presentation. I now know what thing i have doing wrong and what i can do right next time.

we started the day short tutorial on maya and then we went and did the basic thing in maya like moving
object round and resize things and then the year two students a powerpoint presentation what they like to do for the understanding the media 2 project they pick thing like make a poster on a game make a  cartoon trailer kid game for smartphones and tablets and they all talk about the target audience is it hardcore gamers, kids and family and Neil  show as some more things on maya such as  faces, polygons count  extrude

i was ok with understanding the maya interface navigated in 3d space and move 3d objects
saving maya files  but not too good at make a 3d model i was make a 3d modem like jigsaw puzzles
make a gun from one point and then we have to make a lamp which i was not  too good i made a lamp but it looked nothing like the lamp that we had to make

Today we got a new brief to redesigns the penguin pool in london. so i started to research about penguin, penguin pool in london, penguins rock in Edinburgh, 3d models of animal, penguin in films and 3d building. and then i started to do some thumbnails sketches and and i started to do modeling the penguin in maya and this is the penguin that i am modeling

day two maya  tutorials we start the day with neil showed as about hyper shades

3:10pm 13/09/2012 understanding the media 1

today we started the day with  looking at a powerpoint on matte painting where look at how the made what kind of media the are used like hand painting photoshop and then we had to look the a website mattepainting.org and i found a good site with matte painting on it www.3dtotal.com/ and found a other  website www.3dm3.com with lot of good tutorials on maya, 3dxs max and photoshop  and then we had to pick a picture and found how it was made and i talk about the picture to the group
and then we had 3 hours to make matte painting  it had to be 2048 pixel wide so i  

I have finished Graphic Design at Stafford college. Now starting a new course at Staffordshire University Digital Media Production New Media.

Today I started the course with Neil Wood I R E Investigation Reflection and Expression. Neil gave as a module handbook and then he talk to as about university work loads and deadlines marking criteria of the university. It different from level 3 courses in college and then Neil talk about reflection learning journals what there are what the use for and why make one and the process  is Concrete Experience, Reflection, Theorise / Abstract Conceptualisation, Active experimentation or in simple terms Do, Review, Learn, Apply. And then we pick a piece of paper out of bag in  the bag there was lot of different Art and Design genres like Pop Art Minimalism and more but. I got Fauvism and i had no idea what it was then  that we have too make powerpoint presentation and it must last 4 to 5 minutes and no morn then 8 slides.

Review

It was a good start to university there was a lot of thing get in but  i think that i got all of info the Neil is giving as lot of people where taking notes but i did not take any notes because i learn in visual way that seeing the thing front of me and look at it that the end i enjoy my first day at uni good night and it's 09:56pm 11/09/2012
